This WEBPAGE will allow you to take a virtual ride with me, HopeRider Lacy and my friend, HopeRider Jeff, by accessing my real time position during the entire trip. You will also be able to access my daily journal, which will include pictures I will take along the way.
THE PURPOSE: This year we will be riding for five charities; The Armed Forces Relief Trust, South Florida Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Agape Family Ministries, Miami Rescue Mission and the United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF). We encourage you to support one or all of these charities. You may access and donate to the charities by clicking on the link to their WEB Sites located at the bottom of our home page.
100% OF ALL DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHARITIES.
THE RIDE: We will depart from Key West on the morning of the 11 June, travel northwest to Bismarke, North Dakota, and enter Canada at the beautiful city of Regina, Saskahewan. We will travel west to Dawson Creek, British Columbia where we will take the Alaskan Canadian (ALCAN) Highway north to Fairbanks, Alaska. From Fairbanks we will travel north on the
old Haul Road past the Arctic Circle to Deadhorse, AK, at Prudhoe Bay, on the Arctic Ocean. We will spend the night in Deadhorse and start our return ride back to Key West the following day. The entire trip should take about 25 days covering 11,000 + miles (round-trip). Over one thousand of these miles will be through Alaska’s tundra wilderness and over eleven hundred miles will be on dirt and/or gravel roads. A map of our trip can also be found on this website.
We invite you to sit back and share our adventure to the top of the world. As stated above, we will be sending daily pictures, video clips and journal entries which will be posted on the website. The website also features a “Where are the HopeRiders now” button that will provide you with our real time (24/7) location via Goggle Maps. So just sit back and enjoy the ride!
Very Respectfully – HopeRiders Lacy and Jeff
